CHURCH MUSIC

PREPARATORY COURSE

The Music Preparatory Course at Kohima Lotha Baptist Church is a foundational program designed for children and teens to discover and develop their musical talents in a Christ-centered environment. Offered once a year, this course provides structured lessons in basic music theory, vocal training, and an introduction to instruments, helping young learners pursue their love for music with purpose and discipline.

Grounded in biblical values, the course emphasizes using music as a form of worship and service to God, inspired by verses such as Psalm 92:1 — “It is good to praise the Lord and make music to your name, O Most High.” The aim is not only to teach music skills but to nurture a heart of worship and a desire to glorify God’s Kingdom through song and praise.

This annual program lays a strong spiritual and musical foundation, encouraging the next generation to offer their gifts back to God in joyful and meaningful ways.

CHILDREN CHOIR

Children’s Choir (Ages 6–12)

The Children’s Choir of Kohima Lotha Baptist Church, composed of boys and girls aged 6 to 12, is a vibrant ministry dedicated to nurturing young hearts in worship and the Word of God through music. Rooted in the biblical call to praise, this choir exists not merely to sing, but to glorify God and grow in faith from a young age.

“From the lips of children and infants you, Lord, have called forth your praise.”
Matthew 21:16 (NIV)

We believe that children are not just the future of the Church, but are a vital part of the Body of Christ today. Through songs of praise, Scripture-based lyrics, and joyful worship, the Children's Choir helps to lay a spiritual foundation in each child’s life.

Psalm 8:2 reminds us that God ordains strength through the praise of children. As they sing in innocence and faith, they minister not only to the congregation but also to one another, learning to serve with humility and love.
