JESUS LOVE THE LITTLE CHILDREN

The Christian Education Department is one of the key ministries of our Church, entrusted with the precious mission of reaching young hearts and leading them to Christ. It plays a vital role in building a strong foundation for the future of the Church.

Our Church takes Children’s Ministry very seriously, recognizing the increasing challenges of today’s world. As children grow brighter and more curious, they require more of our time, attention, and guidance. We are called to partner with God in raising them, and He delights to partner with us in shaping their lives.

To lay a firm Biblical foundation in the hearts of our children, our Church is blessed to have ten Sunday School sectors, serving the following areas:

As Christian educators, we believe that understanding the children we teach is essential. Children are deeply aware of fairness, sensitive to being identified solely by intelligence, and possess a strong sense of justice. Therefore, in Sunday School we follow a grading system (Continuous Comprehensive Evaluation) designed to avoid unhealthy comparisons. We place greater value on character development over mere intellectual achievement, affirming that every child is precious in God’s eyes.

With the dedicated leadership of our Director and Associate Director, along with 56 committed teachers and 10 energetic superintendents, the Christian Education Department seeks to equip each child with the knowledge and understanding necessary for daily Christian living. Through various activities and programs, we lay a firm biblical foundation that will anchor their spiritual growth for years to come.

FLASH BACK

In the year 1967 the Kohima Lotha Baptist Church established the Sunday School under the initiative of Late Rev. Phandheo Pastor. The department then set up Sunday School. In the early part, the Sunday School Classes were conducted with the supervision of a Superintendent. However, in 1989 an Assistant Superintendent were appointed for each colony to nurture the spiritual Growth of the children through Scripture.

As the Church felt the need for Full time worker for the department Mrs. Renboni Ezung was appointed as its first Director and she took up the responsibility with 47 Sunday school teachers. Her dedication and commitment for the ministry is commendable.

The Christian Education Department continue to strive its goal of winning the young souls and nurturing them for HIS Kingdom. Today we have Director, Christian Education Department and Associate Director with 10 Superintendent and Teachers.

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL

Regular Christian Education is done every week Throughout the Year by our faithful Educators (Sunday School Teachers).And during summer break we desire that every child is taught to build their faith and follow Christ’s teachings in their daily life so we introduce Vacation Bible School (VBS).Where they are given opportunity to deepen their relationship with Jesus Christ.

At every stage of childhood our children are exposed to a lot of situations in their life that will challenge their faith in God as well as strengthen their trust in God. So our attention is crucial at this point.

Not all kids learn the same way, so VBS program offers daily different lessons to meet their spiritual needs for all kinds of learners. Children can pick up in a way that matches her/his now way of learning style. And children in this AI generation, we want to lead them to Christ through creative Bible learning experience and explore God’s word, applying Scripture to their daily lives.

Each team members of VBS provides a unique and important part of child’s total VBS experience that makes them longing to come back.

Our mission is to nurture the whole person—spiritually, intellectually, emotionally, and socially—by implementing a biblically based curriculum and hosting events that inspire, equip, and strengthen our young disciples. We aim to prepare them to face the challenges of today’s world with faith and confidence.
